Karl J. Kincel founded Kincel & Company in 1983. The company got its start as the result of a mutual decision to dissolve Margolies/Kincel, a partnership of twenty years between Albert Margolies and Karl Kincel. Karl teamed with his family members and some former associates to start an independent agency with its headquarters in Dunmore,Pennsylvania. The new entity offered property and casualty insurance products and served mostly commercial clients from Karl’s established book of business.
Through the years the agency grew in volume through the referrals of satisfied customers and successful acquisitions. The former Margolies Agency was among the group of agencies assimilated. In addition, the firm established another sales office location in Hawley, Pennsylvania.
After Karl semi-retired in 2005 and subsequently passed away in mid 2007, the operation transitioned to a second generation. An important milestone takes place in 2013; the business confidently celebrates thirty years of service.
Today, Karl’s legacy is a dynamic organization with a total staff of fifteen. His wife, Ann Marie, continues as the bookkeeper, and five of his six children still oversee key areas of day-to-day functions. Kevin and Ken play active roles in commercial lines sales and service. Karl III and Kristine are invaluable members of the personal lines team. Kurt is devoted to automation, human resource, and administrative issues. A dedicated support staff of experienced agents and clerical personnel backs up the family crew. Several key associates are company-trained underwriters, and Kincel & Company proudly declares that 90% of the agency’s non-family employees are with the establishment for over ten years.
This experienced, family-owned, independent agency is equipped with the knowledge and resources to offer individuals and small businesses tailored insurance protection at reasonable rates from a quality portfolio of national and regional insurance companies and brokerages.
